Lots of people are finding it hard to sleep these days. It might be due to stress, deadlines that need to be met at work or you just another victim of technology. Taking pills to induce sleep is not a good idea because you might end up fully depending on them.
So let’s look at some home remedies to help you get better sleep.
The smell of jasmine oil causes you to feel drowsy. Just rub a small amount on your forehead and wrist before going to bed. Slumberland here I come.
Valerian releases gamma-amino butyric acid. This helps to regulate nerve cells and helps you sleep much better. Just put some valerian roots in a jug. Pour some hot water into it and cover. Leave it for 15 minutes, uncover, sieve and enjoy your drink.
Cherry juice contains tryptophan. When induced into the body, it converts into serotonin, which in turn converts into melatonin. This is what causes drowsiness. So a few minutes before going to bed, make it a habit to enjoy a glass of cherry juice.
TAKE A BREAK FROM THE TECHNOLOGY
We all get tempted to watch TV while lying in bed. This is a bad idea. When you have computers and TV in your bedroom, it makes it harder to fall asleep. Most of the time your attention is on these gadgets. So keep them out of the bedroom and just relax.
DRINK SOME CHAMOMILE
People have been using chamomile for many years now. It relaxes the muscles and helps you doze off in no time. Though studies are not yet clear on what components of chamomile induce sleep, it has long been thought to be apigenin.
